Frequently asked questions
What kind of metadata can images contain?
EXIF (camera, lens, settings, date and GPS location), XMP (editing history, ratings, descriptions), IPTC (captions, copyright, keywords) and ICC colour profiles.
Why does the detected format differ from the extension?
Files are sometimes renamed. We identify the format from the file’s signature bytes, which cannot be changed by renaming.
Are my images uploaded?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser, so your images never leave your device.
